February Birchbox

I received my February Birchbox in the mail and I have to say, I am MUCH more impressed this time around!

Birchbox paired with US Weekly to create the month of February's boxes and they sure didn't disappoint.

Three of the five samples retail for $50 or more as a full size and one sample retails at $109!

In this box I received (full price):

Bain de Terre shampoo and conditioner ($12 and $13.50 respectively)
Joan Vass perfume spritzer ($75)
Miracle Skin Transformer ($48)
StriVectin-AR Advanced Retinol Night Treatment ($109)

I love the fact that I am able to try such pricey, high end products for only $10/month! I am most excited about the two skin products since I grew up with women that are fastidious about their skin care regime. Which of these products would you be most interested to try? If you have any questions about my thoughts or opinions on these or last months box, feel free to ask!

Target Dollar Spot

I haven't browsed the Target dollar spot in awhile, so while I was in there this morning stocking up on snow storm supplies (ahem, wine and new shoes), I decided to take a peek at what Target had in stock.
*Everything shown here is $1. Target likes to sneak in those $2-3 items, too*

Valentine wine bags...the middle one is my favorite!

Burlap Valentine votive is oh so cute...you could make this, but for $1, why would you?

Cute, colorful file folders = teacher love

Hexagonal kelly green tray

Mustache+ chevron notecards?! Obsessed.

Trendy clipboards...another teacher must have.

Lovin' these file expanders. The pink and white chevron is great for coupons and easily fits in your purse. The solid gray and pink ones would be good for keeping bills organized.

How amazing are these packs of ribbon? Great addition to any craft room.

Silver metallic letters and buttons are always good to have on hand to spruce up a gift.

This ribbon (gold and white slightly shaped arrows) is another great craft find!

While most of the Dollar Spot was Valentine themed, it is a great spot to hit up if you are looking for a cute gift or something to make your day a little brighter.

Hope everyone stays safe the next few days if you live around Atlanta!

Tuesday Morning Spree

Last Sunday after I went a little Goodwill Hunting, I stopped by one of my favorite stores to see what they had in stock: Tuesday Morning. I used to not like Tuesday Morning, but in the past few years they have really made an effort to keep current, trendy merchandise and last weekend was no exception. I swear I felt like I was in a cheaper version of HomeGoods! Here are some of my finds below:

Chrome and crackled glass bathroom accessories

Loved this assortment of throws! Bright colors, trendy patterns, gray cable knit....
what more could you ask for?!

Great section of cute, organizational bins and baskets

Tufted benches, patterned chairs, chic side tables

Dog lovers: They had great dog beds and a HUGE selection of toys, treats, shampoos, etc.

Loved their gift wrapping area! The ribbon/twine, wrapping paper and scalloped tissue
were all on par with current trends

All of these items were in their clearance section: cute dinosaur plates for a boy's birthday party, chevron and ikat plates and napkins, Anthro-esque mugs
and a cute quatrefoil compact mirror

Bold, patterned pillows

Loved these colorful and mod dish washing gloves

Gorgeous white home decor

Fashion lint rollers...umm, these went in my buggy!

Why, oh why, did I go to Target for my lunchbox
when I could have gotten a MUCH cuter one here?!

Outdoor patio furniture

Kitchen chair cushions

Gorgeous silver trays...I bought the skinny one for my perfume and jewelry
 on my bathroom counter....so chic!

Loved these glass lanterns with a rope handle

Tall, skinny black lamp with a striped shade: obsessed. I need a buffet...stat.

Gorgeous hammered silver candlesticks and a cheap wreath hanger!

How precious for a little boy's room?

Nautical blue and red oars....would look awesome in a boy's room

What do y'all think? Are you as smitten as I am? If you haven't done so, go check out your local Tuesday Morning...I promise you won't be disappointed!

Goodwill Hunting

I started getting cabin fever during Atlanta #SnowJams2014, so I decided to venture out to Goodwill and Tuesday Morning. I LOVE a good afternoon thrifting, and these stores did not disappoint. Tuesday Morning isn't a typical "thrift" store per say, but you can find some great discounts! Check back tomorrow for my amazing finds... you will think I discovered the new Home Goods :)

Now, for some down and dirty Goodwill thrifting, first up is this table and chair set + matching baker's rack when I walked in the store. Not so much my style, but in excellent condition and very nice piece for anyone looking for a breakfast nook. I was honestly surprised to see something like this in a Goodwill since most of the furniture is clearly used, but I guess that's the Johns Creek Goodwill for ya.

Ornate Table and Chair Set (~$250)

Matching Baker's Rack

Dog toy central! We always buy Scout and Gunner stuffed animals from here because they are SO much cheaper than the pet store. Our dogs rip them to shreds anyways,
so there is no point spending a ton of money.

This wreath was $2 and change, so rip off those flowers and make yourself a cute spring wreath :)
Here is a link to 50 Spring Wreath Tutorials.

This small, plastic tray would be great to spray paint in another color, like metallic silver or gold.  Then use the tray as a vignette on your dresser, for your jewelry, or a catch-all for keys, mail, etc. when you walk in the door.

Square, glitzy golden plates will make any table go from boring to glam.
Cheap and easy for your next dinner party!

I have seen so many two-toned home accent items lately, so this bowl definitely caught my eye. You can leave it as is, or spray the bottom part white/silver/sea foam green
to make it a little more springy.

A pair of heavy, ornate candlesticks..sign me up! Too bad I don't have a dining room table yet,
or these babies would have come home with me.
You could spray these any color under the rainbow to match your decor.

This planter DID come home with me!
For $2, I'm going to spray her poppy red and plant some spring flowers in her for my back deck.

This herb planter was precious....nothin' needed to spruce her up!

Ok, bear with me on this lamp/table combo guys. I could totally envision this painted a light aqua, change out the lamp shade for something chic and putting it next to my big reading chair in my sun room. Those little half circle rails on top came off really easily if you didn't want them. For $29, I was truly torn about whether or not it should come home with me. I walked away to think about it and when I went back, another couple had already grabbed it!

I saw this large, square tray back by the picture frames and thought it would be great....you guessed it....spray painted. Then you could create a vignette on a large ottoman or use as a serving tray...love the size for only a few dollars!

This was a smaller frame, but I loved the bamboo look!

I have a director's chair in my classroom, but I really like these bamboo ones better. Change out the fabric for another color and they could be really cute! The set of two was $28(?) dollars.

This coffee table was in great condition! I thought about distressing it shabby chic
and possibly putting glass-topped squares of scrapbook paper
in each of the four corners for a personalized look.

Last but not least were these two vases. The one on the left is a terrible color, but I liked her shape and all dolled up (aka spray painted) she could be a beaut. The blue vase, on the other hand, could totally work as is for a way to add color to any room.

Thanks for stopping by and feel free to share any of your Goodwill finds or tips in the comments below!
